Mark tossed 6 balls while playing a number games. Three balls landed in one section, and 3 balls landed in another section. His score is greater than one hundred thousand. What could his score be?

    3x + 3y > 100,000 → 3 (x + y) > 100,000 → x + y > 100,000 : 3

    His score has to be a multiple of 3 in order to have a whole number

    100,000 : 3 = 33,333.33

    100,001 : 3 = 33,333.66

    100,002 : 3 = 33,334 (the first multiple of 3 greater than 100,000)

    His score could be 100,002 or 100,002 + 3n; where n is a whole number
