The pyramid shown has a square base that is 24 inches on each side. The slant height is 20 inches. What is the surface area of the pyramid?

    To find the area you need to find the area of each of the sides/bottom.

    Area of sides (3 triangles):

    (bh/2) x3

    = 720 inches

    Area of base (square):

    (s^2)

    = 576

    720+576=1296 inches^2
