A person who weighs 100 pounds on Earth weighs 16.6 lb on the moon. Which variable is the independent variable?

    The person who weighs 100 pounds on earth.

    Because in order to find the pounds on the moon you have to know how much they weigh on Earth which makes the pounds on the moon the dependent variable and the pounds on earth the dependent.
