After the bake sale, Lora had 24 bills, some were $10, and rest were $5 bills. The total amount of money was $140. How many of each denomination did she have? Define your variables. Write the two equations and solve.

    140 = 10x + 5y

    24 = x + y

    x = 4

    y = 20

    x is the number of $10 bills (So 4 $10 bills)

    y is the number of $5 bills (So 20 $5 bills)
