So firstly, we have to find out how many are green and yellow. For green subtract 17 from 20 and for yellow subtract 12 from 20:

    20 - 17 = 3. 3 balls are green. 20 - 12 = 8. 8 balls are yellow.

Next, add up the total amount of balls that are green, yellow, and black:

    8 + 3 + 5 = 16. 16 balls are not blue.

    Lastly, subtract 16 from 20:

    20 - 16 = 4. 4 balls are blue.
