What is the 3rd term when 2y2 + 3y4 - 5y + 6y3 is arranged in descending order?

    Arranged in descending order means the terms are arranged in the order of the exponent, from the largest to the smallest. the exponent is the little number up right to y,

    3y^4+6y^3+2Y^2-5y

    so the third term is 2y^2
