Simon calculated the volume of the prism. His work is shown here. area of base = B = 1 2 bh = 1 2 (5) (13) = 32.5 m2 volume = Bh = 32.5 (12) = 390 m3 Triangular Prism What errors did he make? Check all that apply. The area of the base is 30 m2, not 32.5 m2. The area of the base is 60 m2, not 32.5 m2. The area of the base is 78 m2, not 32.5 m2. The volume of the prism is 108 m3, not 390 m3. The volume of the prism is 120 m3, not 390 m3.

    I have to assume that the numbers for the lengths are 5, 13 and 12, as you did not include the figures.

    Using those numbers you get, the following result.

    1) The formula for the volume of a prism is:

    V = area of the base * height

    2) Since it is a triangular prism, the base is a triangle and the area of the base is:

    area of the base = (1/2) bh = (1/2) (5m) (13m) = 32.5m²

    3) Then, using 12 as the height of the prism you get:

    V = (32.5m²) (12m) = 390m³

    4) Now you can review the set of options:

    What errors did he make? Check all that apply.

    She did not make any error, as you will see:

    The area of the base is 30 m2, not 32.5 m2. → false, we got the same result 32.5 m²

    The area of the base is 60 m2, not 32.5 m2. → false, for the same reason above.

    The area of the base is 78 m2, not 32.5 m2. → false, for the same reason above.

    The volume of the prism is 108 m3, not 390 m3. → false, we obtained 390m³

    The volume of the prism is 120 m3, not 390 m3. → false, for the same reason above,
