    2x + 5 - 6x + 21 = 2 (3x - 5) - 4

    distribute

    2x+5 - 6x + 21 = 6x-10 - 4

    combine like terms

    -4x + 26 = 6x - 14

    add 4x to each side

    26 = 10x - 14

    add 14 to each side

    40 = 10x

    divide by 10

    4 = x
