The length of a rectangle is 1 inch more than twice its width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 74 inches, find the dimensions of the rectangle.

    L = 2W + 1 ... (1)

    2L + 2W = 74

    2L = - 2W + 74 ... (2) Adding (1) and (2) : -

    3L = 75

    L = 75/3 = 25

    W = (25 - 1) / 2 = 12

    length is 25 inches and width = 12 inches
