Two cars travel in opposite direction starting from the same place at the same time one travels at an average rate of 43 miles per hour and the other averages at 38 miles per hour in how many hours will they be 405 miles apart

    Well there can be two different solutions for this but i will choose the easier one. Obviously one requires a system of equations which obviously will involve a lot of thinking and some good algebra solving in order for them to solve.

    So we can just keep adding the distance as we know they are in different directions. 43 + 38 = 81. So 81 * 5 = 405 miles. SO after around 5 hours they will be 405 miles apart if they continue at the same rates.
