When the whole is the same, how many eights does it take to make 1 fourth? draw a model to support your answer

    2/8. 2/8 can be simplified to 1/4 if you divide by 2 in both the numerator and the denominator. Draw two pies. Make one pie cut into 8 even pieces and one cut into 4. Shade in two of the slices on the pie with 8 pieces (side by side) and shade in one on the pie that's cut into four slices (in the same spot as on the other pie). You should see how you shaded the same total area of each pie.
