    L is 7 more than twice W

    L=7+2W

    area ia 99

    99=LW

    sub 7+2W for L

    99 = (7+2W) W

    99=7W+2W^2

    minus 99 from both sides

    0=2W^2+7W-99

    factor

    0 = (W+9) (2W-11)

    set each to zero

    W+9=0

    W=-9

    fasle, measurement cannot be negative

    2W-11=0

    add 11

    2W=11

    divide 2

    W=5.5

    the width is 5.5

    sub

    L=7+2W

    L=7+2 (5.5)

    L=7+11

    L=18

    the dimentions is 18yd by 5.5 yd
