    So, I understand that the question is asking us to multiply 5 and 23, using two properties of multiplication.

    The two properties that I would want to use are:

    1) distributive property: 5 times 23 is the same as 2 times20 plus 5 times 3

    2) Associative property - it doesnt matter whether we multiply 5*20 or 20*5 - the result is the same!

    So let's count!

    5*23=5*20+5*3=100+15=115.

    So the result is 115.
