He made a baby quilt that was 3 feet wide. it's perimeter is 16 feet. What was it's area?

    Since it’s 3 feet wide that means this is a rectangle, not a square. so Two sides are 3 feet which would equal 6. 16-6=10. The other two sides would have to be 5 so that all the sides add up to 16. The area for a rectangle is Length • Width. so 3•5 = 15 feet squared.
