Lucy's lemonade stand has increasing profits each week during the hot summer months. Lucy finds that each week during the summer her profits increase by 10% over what they were the previous week. In her first week of business, her profits were $50.

How much money will she make in all over 4 weeks?

    In first Lucy's week, her profits were $50, in second week her profits increased by 10% and became $55 (10% from $50 is $5), in third week her profits increased by 10% from $55 and became $60.5 (10% from $55 is $5.5) and in fourth week her profits increased by 10% from $60.5 and became $66.55 (10% from $60.5 is $6.05).

    In all over four weeks she will make $50+$55+$60.5+$66.55=$232.05
