Find the angular size of a circular object with a 3 -inch diameter viewed from a distance of 4 yards.

    Sin (α/2) = r/d

    α/2=arcsin (r/d)

    α=2arcsin (r/d)

    r=radius of object=1.5 in, d=distance=144 in. so:

    α=2arcsin (1.5/144)

    α=1°11' 37"
