A sign above a sweater says "Take an additional 50% off." The price tag shows a price that is 40% of the regular price. What percent of the regular price is the discounted price (the price after both discounts) ?

    Say it was 100$. 40% off would make it 60$. Another 50% off would make it 30$. The sweaters price and the end was a total of 70% off as it starts at 100$ and goes down to 30$

    The price after both discounts is 0.5 (0.6) p = 0.3p

    Therefore, the price after both discounts is 30% of the original price.
