The perimeter of a rectangle is 332cm. The length is 7 cm more than twice the width. Find the length and

width of the rectangle.

    let the width be 'x'

    then, length = 2x+7

    perimeter = 2 (length+width)

    332 = 2 (2x+7 + x)

    332/2 = 3x + 7

    166 - 7 = 3x

    159/3 = x

    53 = x

    therefore, width (x) = 53

    length = 2 (53) + 7

    = 113
