If u have only a 3-quart pitcher and 5-quart pitcher how can you measure exactly 1 quart

    The only way I can think of is filling the 3-quart dumping it into the 5-quart. Fill the 3-quart again and then use it to fill the 5-quart the rest of the way. That process should leave you with 1-quart of water in the 3-quart container.
