A local grocer cut his marketing budget by 57% last year. He spent only $650 on marketing this year and is happy with his decision. How much did the grocer spend on marketing last year?

I know that the answer is $1511.63, I just need to know the math of how we get that answer.

Step-by-step explanation: The math portion of it would be as follows:

650 times 2, since it's been cut by more than half, which equals 1300.

    650 times. 07 = 45.5

    695.5 times 2 = 1391.

    Also, 1300 x. 07 = 91.

    Add them together, 1300 + 91 = 1391.

SO I think the correct answer is actually 1391, not 1511.63.
