What is 25% of 100%?
we need to divide the two, so:
25/100 = 0.25
We know that after a decrease of 25% the original number 48 has to be less in the final analysis.
we now multiply 0.25 by 48, so:
0.25 * 48 = 12
Therefore 48 has decreased by 12. What has remained?
we subtract the numbers.
48 - 12 = 36
Therefore 48 decreased by 25% will be 36.
