There are 100 lettered tiles in a board game. You chose the following tiles without looking: J, E, M, A, E.

How many of the 100 tiles would you expect to be vowels?

    There's there's 3/5 vowels out of how many you pull out. So you do 3/5 = x/100 so they can be equivalent. You multiply 3 and 100 (cross multiply) then divide it by 5. Then you get 60 so 60 equals x. That means you would expect to get 60/100 tiles with vowels in the board game.
