Let f (x) = - 8x^2 - 5x and g (x) = 17x^2 + 11x. Find f (x) - g (x).

    -8x^2 - 5x = 17x^2 + 11x (solve as simultaneous equation)

    0=25x^2 + 16x (factorise into brackets to find x)
