Height of the kiwi = ? Call it 'K' for now, until we find out what it is.

    4 times the height of a kiwi = 4 K

    20 inches taller than that = 4 K + 20

You said that's 108 inches, so we can write

    4 K + 20 = 108

    Subtract 20 from each side: 4 K = 88

    Divide each side by 4 : K = 22 inches.
