If the cos of angle x is 5 over 8 and the triangle is dilated to be three times as big as the original, what would be the value of the cos of x for the dilated triangle?

a. 15 over 24

b. 10 over 16

c. 5 over 8

d. The cos value cannot be determined for the dilated triangle.

    Even though we triple the lengths of the sides of the original triangle, we do not change the value of the cosine of the angle x, because the ratio "adj / hyp" remains the same (5/8).
