    1 base area which is a square, area of square = l² 4 triangles, area of a triangle = 1/2 (slant height) (base)

    area of 4 triangle = 2 (slant height) (base)

    In question we are given perpendicular height of pyramid not the slant height so first we will calculate the slant height.

    By using pythagorus:

    Slant height = √ (24²+8²)

    = 8√10

    Surface area = baseArea + 2 (slant height) (base)

    = 16² + 2 (8√10) (16)

    = 1065
