    I'm just going to give you a very brief answer.

    Step One: The distributive property to remove the brackets.

    Step Two: You are collecting like terms on the left. It's the additive inverse property of 0 for the two "24x"s Some people think it's the distributive property as well.

    Step Three: The additive inverse of 132 is added to both sides.

    Step Four: Multiplication by the multiplicative inverse of - 72 (1 / - 72)
