What is the characteristics of multiplication property of equality

If you multiply one side of an inequality by a number, you can multiply the other side of the inequality with the same number. But if the number you're multiplying with is negative, you must flip the inequality sign so it's facing the opposite direction than before. If the number you're multiplying with is positive, the sign will stay the same.
