What is a gcf for 40 and 15

    The gcf (Greatest Common Factor) for 40 and 15 is 5.

    Factors of 40 = 1, 2, 4, 5 , 8, 10, 20, 40

    Factors of 15 = 1, 3, 5,15

    Notice how 1 and 5 are in both sides but the greater number is 5.
