A rocket is launched vertically from the ground with an initial velocity of 64 ft/sec. (a) Write a quadratic function h (t) that shows the height, in feet, of the rocket t seconds after it was launched.

    The formula for the distance in a given time, is calculated using the formula:

    x = vt - 0.5gt^2

    where x is the distance

    v is the initial velocity

    g is the acceleration due to gravity which is equal to 32 ft/s^2

    t is the time

    so given v = 64 ft/s

    x = vt - 0.5gt^2

    x = 64t - 0.5 (32) t^2

    x = 64t - 16t^2

    x = 4t - t^2 will be the quadratic formula of the rockets distance
