Trevor was reading a book for a book report. last week, he read 55 pages of the book. this week, he read 4.5 times as many pages as he read last week. how many pages of the book has trevor read this week?

    If Trevor read 55 pages last week, reading 4.5 times more this week means a 450% increase.

    450% = 400% + 50% = 4x the original amount + half the original amount

    4 • 55 = 220

    0.5 • 55 = 27.5

    220 + 27.5 = 247.5

    Trevor read 247.5 pages this week.
