    Let y = x + 2/5.

    ∴ x = y - 2/5

    Now, interchange x and y,

    ∴ y = x - 2/5

    Therefore, f⁻¹ (x) = x - 2/5 - - - (i)

    Now, plug x = - 3 in (i),

    ∴ f⁻¹ (-3) = - 3 - 2/5 = - 17/5

    Therefore,

    f⁻¹ (-3) = - 17/5
