    The mean

You have to first put the numbers in order

    18,22,26,34,39,42

To find the median you have to find the number that's in the middle and since there are two of them, you have to find the average of them

    26+34=60

    60/2=30

    Median is 30

To find the mean, you have to add everything together and then divide it by 6.

    18+22+26+34+39+42=181

    181/6 = 30.17

Now you have to add the 65

    18,22,26,34,39,42,65

    The middle number is 34

    Median=34

    18+22+26+34+39+42+65=246

    246/7=35.14

Now you just have to subtract

    new median-old median

    34-30=4

    New mean-old mean

    35.14-30.17=4.97

So the mean will increase more
