How do I solve

1 * 2/3 - 1/2?

I tried myself. Believe i got invitert answer = = 3/1

    Do 1 * 2/3 first. that's 2/3. Then we have to subtract 2/3-1/2.

    To do this we have to make sure the denominators are the same number. In this case it will have to be a multiple of 3 and 2 - the easiest one being 6.

    Start with 2/3. Multiply both the top and bottom of this fraction by 2. You get 4/6.

    The 1/2. Multiply the top and bottom of this fraction by 3. You get 3/6.

    Now you can subtract 4/6 - 3/6. You only subtract the tops of the fractions, so you'd get 1/6. The answer is 1/6.

    The answer would be 2/3 or 4/6 - 1/2 or 3/6 which would equal 1/6
