A submarine descended 1400 meters below the surface of the water. It then rose 800 meters and then descended 350 meters. What was the submarine's net gain or loss in altitude?

    Descended 1400+descended 350 meters - rose 800 meters 1400+350=1750m 1750 m-800m=950m

    well if its below that would be - 1400, rising + 800 and desending at - 350

    so the problem is - 1400+800-350

    -1400+800-350

    -600-350

    -950
