What is the slope of the line described by the equation below y-5=-3 (x-17)

    here we are given equation y-5=-3 (x-17)

    general slope intercept form is y=mx+b, where m is slope

    from our equation we have

    y-5=-3 (x-17)

    y-5=-3x+51

    y=-3x+51+5

    y=-3x+56

    so slope is - 3
