    First you must bring all x on one side and all normal numbers on the other side:

    6x+3 = 5x - 5) - 5x

    1x + 3 = - 5) - 3

    1x = - 8

    At last you must divide 8 by the number, that is multiplied with x:

    1x = - 8) : 1

    x = - 8
