Avery planned a circular garden and path as shown below. the radius of the garden is 4 feet and the path around the garden is 2 feet wide. what is the total area of the garden and path? (use 3.14 for pi and round to the nearest tenth.)

    This is the formula for calculating the circumference of a circle:

    C = 2pi r

    R is the radius. Since the path is 2 feet wide, we can add 2 to the radius of the garden to get the radius of the whole path and garden.

    2+4=6 so the radius for the total area of the garden and path is 6 feet.
