    4 feet is 48 inches.

6 1/2 inches plus 1/8 inch for the kerf means each cut piece uses 6 5/8 inches of the pipe.

    48 / (6 5/8) = 48· (8/53) = 384/53 = 7 13/53

Seven (7) lengths of 6 1/2" can be cut from a 4' pipe.
