    Part A

    The perimeter of a rectangle is given by

    Perimeter = 2 (length + width)

    i. e. 2 (x + y) = 24

    x + y = 24 / 2 = 12

    Therefore, the equation in standard form for the perimeter is given by

    x + y = 12

    Part B

    x-intercept is x = 12

    y-intercept is y = 12

    The intercepts does not make sence as a solution for this equation because either side of a rectangle cannot be 0.
