    As, mod is positive as well as negative.

    So we have two cases here,

    |4x - 8| = 9x + 2

    First case: (positive value).

    4x - 8 = 9x + 2

    Re arranging the equation:

    9x-4x = - 8-2

    5x = - 10

    x = - 2

    Second case: (negative value).

    - (4x - 8) = 9x + 2

    -4x + 8 = 9x + 2

    Re arranging the equation.

    6 = 13x

    x = 6/13

    L4x-8l - 3x = 6x+2

    4x - 8 - 3x = 6x + 2

    x - 8 = 6x + 2

    -8 - 2 = 6x - x

    -10 = 5x

    -10/5 = x

    -2 = x

    x = - 2
