The function of f (x) = 16x+12 gives the number of pages Gwen has read in the War of the Worlds after x days, and the function g (x) = 18x gives the number of pages Owen has read after x dayso, After how many days will Gwen and Oven have read the same number of pages. Explain how you solved this problem.

    In order to solve this, set the equations equal:

    16x + 12 = 18x

    Isolate the variable

    16x + 12 = 18x-16x - 16x

    12 = 2xDivide both sides by 2

    6 = x6 days
