Triangle A is a scaled version of triangle B. The dimensions of triangle A are three times the dimensions of triangle B. The area of triangle A is 54 sq cm.

    9 * 12 = 108

    the base is 9 and the height is 12

    now the formula for the area of a triangle is 1/2 * (b) * (h)

    multiply 9 * 3 = 27

    multiply 12 * 3 = 36

    multiply base = 27 * height = 36

    27 * 36 = 972

    now divide that by 2

    486 sq cm.
