4b-3 ... you use distributive property and multiply 3*b-1 then you have 7b-3b-3 then you combine like terms and subtract 3b from 7b and get 4b-3

We start off with our equation:
7b-3 (b-1)
Following the order of operations, we will deal with the parenthesis first.
7b-3 (b-1)
Using the distributive property, we multiply each term in the parenthesis by 3.
7b - (3b) - (3*1)
7b-3b-3
Now we will simplify the rest of the expression.
We can see that '7b' and '3b' are like terms. Therefore, we can combine them.
7b-3b-3
4b-3
In the equation, we no longer have any more like terms. We cannot simplify it any more.
The simplest form of 7b-3 (b-1) is 4b-3.
