Positive numbers have negative square roots true or false

    The square root of any positive number has two answers - - one positive answer and the other negative. They have the same magnitude but are opposites.

    For example, the square root of 9 is - 3 and 3.

    -3*-3 = 9

    3*3=9

    So, yes positive numbers do have negative square roots.
