A friend of mine came to me the other day with a question about her new car. She asked, "My car gets 30 miles per gallon when I drive on the highway and 25 miles per gallon when I drive in the city. How many highway miles do I drive on q 400-mile trip if the car consumes 14 gallons of gallons of gasoline during this trip?"

    420 miles

    Step-by-step explanation:

In this case the question is, how many miles would it go if it were highway, the statement tells us that the car gets 30 miles per gallon when I drive on the highway and in addition to that, on the trip it was spent + or 14 gallons, therefore:

    30 miles per gallon * 14 gallons = 420 miles

That is to say that if the car had made this trip by highway it would have spent 420 miles, that is to say 20 miles more than the trip
