What is the x-cordinate of the vertex? y=x^2+2x+1

    For

    y=ax^2+bx+c

    the x value of the vertex is - b / (2a)

    given

    y=1x^2+2x+1

    a=1

    b=2

    -b/2a=-2 / (2*1) = - 2/2=-1

    the x coordinate is x=-1
