There are 133 paper cups at a party, and that is 7 times the number of people at the party. How many people are there? Write a multiplication equation and a division equation using a variable for the unknown number, that can be used to represent the problem. Explain how you could use a bar model to solve the problem. How many people were at the party?

    Let the number of people be x

    Given:

    7x = 133

    x = 133/7 = 19

    Thus number of people = 19
