    H^2 = x^2 + y^2

    where h is the hypotenuse, x and y are the legs.

    h = 19cm

    x = 12cm.

    y = ?

    h^2 = x^2 + y^2

    y^2 = h^2 - x^2

    y^2 = 19^2 - 12^2

    y^2 = 361 - 144

    y^2 = 217

    y = sqrt (217)

    y = 14.7
