Tina sold cookies at her clubs bake sale. She spent $18.50 on supplies. She sold her cookies for $0.75 each and made a profit of $24.25. Write and solve an equation to find how many cookies Tina sold.

    Let x = number of cookies sold

    Equation: 0.75x - 18.50 = 24.25

    add 18.50 to both sides of the equation

    0.75x = 42.75

    divide both sides of the equation by 0.75

    x = 57

    Tina sold 57 cookies.
